MY wife drove in saudi Arabia - A blog from 2011

I was driving down the streets of Jeddah with my wife in my Black Yukon all gangstad up and feeling like a boss, when my wife dropped a bomb on me. she said: 'honey, can i drive?'

I was like: WHAT? are you crazy woman? know your role?! we are in Saudi Arabia, are you mad?

she said; I know you have always been kind of a revolutionist and you like (habga) which means adventure in Arabic, and you like to be an outlaw and a bad boy so i think you should let me drive and prove to the world how much of a bad boy you are.

My wife know how to make me do things I dont want to do تاكل بعقلي حلاوة

so I went off the main road and found an empty side street and parked on one side, I looked at my wife and told her: here is how we're to do the 'switch'. i will open my door, step out of the car, open the door right behind me, you open your door move to the other side and make it look like you're riding in the back seat. WOW, i really do think like an outlaw, its starting to get to me.

I wasnt sure what i was feeling the moment my wife went behind the wheel. i felt a bit like an outlaw, a criminal, i felt like i was committing a crime. i have to admit for someone who never committed a crime in his life, it felt very good.

just as my wife placed the gear shift on D i felt a strong adrenaline shot in my body and started thinking to myself. everything is gonna be alright !!

As I was daydreaming and thinking about how many youtube videos that i will make calling for the realease my wife from custody, the sound of my wife shouting at me woke me up from daydreaming. she was driving for a while now and i wasn't noticing. honestly, it felt good for a change to sit and let my wife drive, it felt fair to the male species in Saudi Arabia that they take a break from driving every now and then and let the women go drive in this crazy jungle where no traffic law is applied.

My wife stopped shifted to P and stopped, she said she didn't want to drive anymore, I was like: honey, the house is 200 meters, be a good wife and take us till there.

My wife thanked me for being understandable, I felt like an outlaw, but unfortunately I still didnt get my 15 minutes of fame...but I will as there are many opportunities to do do in Saudi Arabia.
